St. George Marathon #18.  I made it.  Worried alot about this hamstring, but it wasn't much of an issue.  I had it wrapped good per the PT's recommendation.  Felt a few twinges in the first 5 miles and a bit afterwards, but all in all it was no problem.  The heat on the other hand was.  I really felt it the last 4 miles or so.  Glad to get this one done.  3:48 isn't what I had hoped for, but I'm pretty happy all things considered.  Glad I BQ'd earlier at Ogden because I didn't get it done today.  Looking forward to the 10 year club dinner tonight.

No running.  Resting today.  PT says I'm good to go, but need to get serious about stretching these hammies.

5 miles in 46:03.  Still running very easy recovery miles.  Soreness is going away, but hamstring still hinting at some problem.  Felt pretty good tonight. 54 degrees at 6:30 p.m. on the Westland Route.  Up to 900 S., down Coleman to 200 S. over to the USU Regional campus, Vine to Main and home.  Planning on running in City Creek Canyon after work tomorrow night.  Resume early morning weekday runs next Monday.

5 miles at 9:00 a.m. along the double track trails behind Little Mountain.  Beautiful sunny morning.  Very easy running.  Hamstring troublesome at about 3 miles, but shorter, quicker strides helped out a lot.  A bit encouraged today.

4 miles easy at 5:10 a.m.  53 degrees.  Skyline out and back.  Felt really good for the first 3+ miles and then some more hamstring issues.  This injury may take a while, but I'm just happy to have made it through the marathon and still running.

10 mile run in Settlement Canyon and along the Dark Trail and back with Tina in 1:33:18, 9:19 overall pace.  Encouraging run at first and then discouraging.  Hamstring had some more issues today and really grabbed me at about 7 miles.  I don't know what's going on with it.  Barely made it through the last 2 miles, running pretty slowly.  Glad I have some easy winter base mileage weeks coming up.  Maybe I can get this healed up.  I'd really like to do Snow Canyon 1/2 marathon in a couple of weeks, but it may be just a fun run through the canyon for me.  Boston Marathon registration opens on Monday.  Since I BQ'd at Ogden, we're thinking of going back for one more.  I hear it will fill up fast this year.  I want to have this injury behind me well before then.

5 miles easy at Sugarhouse Park.  Went up to watch the 3A, 4A, and 5A boys and girls State XC meet.  Some pretty fast running going on.  Went running on the course pathways after the races were over and while the traffic was all jammed up with cars and buses.  Hamstring is tolerable, but still hurting.  I really can't push anything right now.  I'll probably be back in PT for a while and then rest this thing after Snow Canyon, if not before.

5 miles at 5:05 a.m.  Very slow.  About 10 min. pace or so.  Up Skyline to the gate and back via Loma Vista and Upland loops.  No problem early, but worsened some throughout the last 2 or 3 miles or so.  Tolerable pain, but can't push it at all.  PT thinks I need some serious time off, but I think I should be able to run through some of this if I can sense it's improving some.  I'll see after an easy run at Snow Canyon.  November may be a wash.

10 miles at 9:00 a.m. in 1:33:00, 9:18 pace.  Rained the entire run.  We picked the absolute worst time of day to go.  It was raining lightly at first and by the time we got up the Smelter Road hills it was really coming down.  I'm really slowing Tina down right now, but she doesn't seem to mind too much.  She's running really well right now and I'm still struggling with this hamstring.  I felt good for the first couple of miles and then was hurting for 6.  The last couple it seemed to loosen up.  I'll keep trying the every other day thing again this week, cycling on the off days, stretching, and icing.

5 miles easy at 5:05 a.m.  Best the hamstring has felt since the week before the marathon.  Still very slow at 49:29.  Full sweats this morning was a bit too much.  Felt much warmer than 39 degrees indicated on my thermometer.  Standard Skyline route to the gate and back via Loma Vista and Upland loops.

10 miles in 1:20:33 with Tina.  8:03 average pace.  Flatland loops of Stansbury Park and through Erda west of the highway up to Erda Way and back.  Very encouraging run.  Back on pace.  Splits: 8:20, 8:02, 8:00, 7:49, 8:00, 7:54, 7:54, 8:16, 8:08, & 8:06.  No real hamstring issues until 9 miles where I was feeling it some, so decided not to go for 12 miles today.  The normal pace was encouraging enough for next week at Snow Canyon.  I don't plan on pushing it there, just enjoy the run.  I hope the weather will be decent.  Got my Boston acceptance in my e-mail yesterday.  Now I need to get healthy and stay that way for a while.
